Crack, Seam and Void Repair in Weston, Massachusetts.

Do you have visible cracks in your foundation? Are you finding water or dampness but aren't sure why? Within a few months or years of construction, many basements begin to crack and develop dampness or seepage from outside. If you can see dampness or smell musty odors, you may have a problem. Protect your foundation from further damage by repairing cracks as soon as possible. Basement Solutions of New England, Inc. serves Weston, Massachusetts. and can assess your home for cracks, leaking tie holes and leaking from around pipe penetrations and fix them before they cause serious damage to your home, leaving you at ease about the future of your foundation.  All repairs come with a transferable limited warranty.

Basement wall cracks also have the ability to widen. While a particular crack may not necessarily be a problem at this time, that can change as soon as the next heavy rain storm.  After a foundation crack forms, the prospect of water seepage (whether slight or major) is not a matter of if, but a matter of when. If water leakage from a crack is minimal now, the potential exists for the crack to widen, allowing further seepage into the basement.

Basement Solutions of New England, Inc. will repair your foundation crack(s)/void(s) in most cases using a low pressure injection using either epoxy or polyurethane resin manufactured by Emecole, Inc.  Low pressure injections are done from inside the basement filling the crack from front to back, bottom to top, completely sealing the crack. In addition, when using urethane foam, you will fill any void behind the crack.

Epoxy injection stops water and provides structural strength. It fills the crack completely and works like a glue for the concrete of your foundation walls. The bond and strength the epoxy injection creates with concrete exceeds the strength of the concrete itself! The strong bond of epoxy generally prevents further elongation and yawning of structural cracks.

Foundation cracks forming as a result of structural deficiencies pose a serious threat to the home's foundation. Horizontal cracks, or cracks wider than a quarter of an inch are general signs of a structural crack. Structural cracks typically form as a result of wall movement from thermal changes, uneven loading and settling of the footing, soil pressure and/or soil shrinkage.

For the repair of structural foundation cracks, the injection material best suited is epoxy. Because the crack was initially caused by stress resulting from movement of the foundation, epoxy works to seal the crack, but epoxy by itself, will not prevent further cracking. Further reinforcement most likely will be necessary, using Fortress Carbon Kevlar Staples.
